Hello

Times are shifting and evil seems to be flourishing more and more. Let us remember those who have died as a result of violence.

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Philippians 3:7 NLT

Upon hearing Paul, one can readily understand why there are religious orders in the Roman Catholic community which have dedicated themselves to poverty. For, without the distraction of material possessions, it may prove much easier to focus on God.

But what of you and I? Although we may not necessarily live in the lap of luxury, there may be items which we value that restrict our praise. What is it that we ought to let go of for Christ? Furthermore,,what has Christ accomplished in our lives such that that which we treasure becomes worthless in His presence? (Perhaps another way to consider this is to ask what would I hesitate to forfeit for Christ?)

Lord, help us undertake the necessary spiritual spring cleaning which results in you as our primary focus, and us valuing nothing – not even life – over You. Hear us dear Jesus. Amen.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
