Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.” Ezekiel 36:26 NLT
Her heart bled out so much. No one seemed to notice or care. In the interest of self preservation, she cared less and less until nothing penetrated the steel cage around her emotions. It was for the best, she figured; since everyone looks out for their own interest anyway. She was mistress of her own destiny. No man, woman, or even a child could stop her. She couldn’t care less if they didn’t allow her to be amongst them.
And then she met Him. He didn’t seem to notice that she wasn’t from His world. And when she pointed it out to Him, He didn’t seem to care. He obviously WAS a foreigner. She wondered what He really wanted – they all wanted something! He was different though, from asking for the improbable to philosophizing about profound mysteries of life. Definitely different.
Then He got to the point. And a new layer of steel casing surrounded her already hardened heart. Somehow He moved past the point; calling her out on the semi-truth, yet treating her as an equal.
An equal
Not an outcast
Her heart melted. Was He … could He be –
He was!
She found a man! And that man was the Messiah.
She forgot about being hardhearted and ran back to the village, leaving everything at His feet. If He could repair her heart; she knew He could do it for those tired souls who hurt people too. She called out, ‘Come! See a Man’
They saw the Man. His glory was totally revealed in her transformation. They went to meet Him for themselves. Their hearts were also transformed.
