Nougat 6

Hello dears

I pray you well. Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“For you are a holy people, who belong to the Lord your God. Of all the people on earth, the Lord your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭7:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So if we are God’s called out, specially selected, set apart people; who are we permitting to define us?

As holy people, we are taken away from the ordinary and set apart for a SPECIFIC purpose. Usain Bolt was born to run. And while he dabbled in football, athletics is his thing. Likewise, our lives may be defined by God, such that we walk into that destiny and lives around us are wholly transformed by us being purposeful. Have we stopped to consider what this purpose is – for it is important that if we are set apart for something; that we aren’t wasting time on or with other things. Even if it’s ‘spiritual’ things. Saul was acting with spiritual zeal on the road to Damascus before he discovered his True Purpose.

You see, we can be busy choir-directing, when God’s plan is for the pulpit or even the nursery. And we might do an okay job, but remember – God calls each of us to excellence. Not mediocrity. So many of us walk outside of God’s will by accepting mediocrity, when God has called us to so much more. Remember Jonah, he was willing to settle and even die, rather than fulfill God’s purpose.

When we know we’re God’s, we will burn the plow, kiss the parents goodbye and obey when the mantle is placed on us. Just like Elisha. (And no, this is NOT an invitation to walk away from our current commitments; but an invitation to revisit who we are called to be!) My dears, I urge us, in these critical times when crisis comes from every side, let us prayerfully discern what and where God calls us to be.

Now I would not wish any of us to be discouraged. Not walking in our full purpose doesn’t mean we are outside of God’s love. As God’s special treasure, we can do for Christ even in those spaces of uncertainty. And we also recognize that many times life happens between the vision and the fulfillment. God told Jeremiah he was called to the ministry of prophecy when he was in the womb; but he didn’t begin there. The disciples spent three years with Jesus prior to the Pentecost experience. We also need a time of developing.

May God’s anointing be tangible in our lives as we walk into God’s purpose for the times.
