Choices choices; choices are before us. What will it be? Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16:5‬ ‭NRSV‬‬

Is the Lord our chosen portion?

If one considers popular opinion, a portion is a serving; something that is allotted for a special purpose or for a set time. A chosen portion means we have the blessing of selection. I would argue that although it may seem that we have a multiplicity of choices; there’s really only one good choice.

And yes, I believe God is the Best Choice for all of us. If it’s on the grounds of power – let’s allow creation remind us of what God is capable of. If it’s military might, God controls all Heaven’s hosts (ie the army of angels). Or compassion; who else loves us back to ourselves – no one does. Or forgiveness; overlooking our sins endlessly, on account of Jesus. And let’s not forget; our God provides round the clock protection no matter where we are in the world!

There is no one on earth, under the earth, or even above the earth who surpasses God’s eligibility.

So, given the blessing of choice; Who is our choice portion?
