So what do we do, after we encounter the Risen Christ? Consider Today’s Holy Nougat
“The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message. And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him.” Matthew 28:8-9 NLT
Unfettered Worship
They’d heard the angel’s message and following the instructions.
Then Jesus appeared …
If they were elated before, they were literally on top of the world then. That was Hope fulfilled before their very eyes. It was no longer, ‘I wonder if …’ or ‘I wonder when …’ – they literally had Living Proof that Jesus rise from the grave! And the Living Proof was Jesus Himself.
I can’t begin to imagine the extent of their elation, because all my life I’ve known a Risen, Living Savior. I’ve walked away from His presence a few times; but deep in my heart; I knew He lived. In fact He lives inside of me. Nevertheless, I do know the wonder and the rapture I felt at the realization that I’m loved by the Lord of Lords, Risen and Exalted, Conqueror of Death.
Moreover, when I invited Jesus in, more so when I formalized that invitation with the act of baptism, was as though I met the Risen Christ myself. That was relief, that was bliss. That was … Jesus, God’s Spirit and God all having a party and I was the guest of honor. Yes, it was all about Jesus, but I was privy to it.
Those ladies worshipped, right there in the cemetery (if those Pharisees heard, they’d have them killed I’m sure). Because it doesn’t really matter where we are or who is before us, if it’s time to worship we do so lest the rocks become our substitute
Have you met the Risen Christ? How do you respond to the Risen Christ?
