Nougat 6

You know peeps,

It’s the little things. Most of us can overlook some temptations, but the little detail. We can tolerate some attitudes, but there’s a little irksome thing that annoys … What about when the tables are turned? Should God give up on us when we falter in the little things? Consider Today’s Holy Nougat

“Some of those at the table were indignant. “Why waste such expensive perfume?” they asked. “It could have been sold for a year’s wages and the money given to the poor!” So they scolded her harshly.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭14‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The Bigger Picture

All they could see was the wastage!

This woman, daring to enter the men’s space, pouring out the treasure on Jesus’ feet. Not even His body, where the smell might have made impact, but His feet! Really! Who’d have time to notice Jesus’ expensive pedicure? In less than a day’s journey, it would be past tense.

Did she not know of the Real ministry needs? Had she realized how many poor people were trailing them in the hopes of alms and free food? That was an entire year’s salary poured put on Jesus’ feet. She didn’t leave any behind for another day. What effrontery!

That’s possibly what they saw.

What they failed to see was the Love lavished on Jesus. That this woman understood that Jesus not only brought the Good News – Jesus IS the Good News!

I can only imagine she understood the real situation. Understood the impact of walking on the feet; understood that Honoring the Messiah was The Ultimate Gift to God.

The little things isn’t only about the wrong we do. It’s also about the little details we notice and respond to without being asked. How we look out for the least and lowest can realize our spiritual elevation.

And when we grumble and complain, it’s possibly a little thing – the kind that disappoints our Lord. Shall we align ourselves with the other little things that please God, even when others will her or complain? May we be filled with discernment so we glorify God with the ‘right’ little things.
