Greetings

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat

“But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:15 NLT

Talk about an undesirable recurring theme! I’m certain that there were several folks in those days who would have preferred to forego the ‘f’ conversation; unless it was to hear of God’s forgiveness plan. And this prequalifier would not have been in their thoughts either!

But apparently forgiveness is serious business to God, for it is part of the foundation pieces in Jesus’s ‘model’ prayer. God’s forgiveness is sought along with our needs; provided that we make room to forgive others. Or is that what it says?

The sense I get is that God’s Forgiveness is a staple we need for sustenance DAILY (For ALL sin … ; take up our daily cross). But more so, who is the debtor when we don’t forgive? Is it really the one who has ‘wronged’ us; or is it our soul caught in that vice of bitterness, self pity and anger, which has the potential to stifle the capacity to truly love? Hmmn. Perhaps it is Both.

For our own release from the accuser’s snare, may we resolve to forgive, as we desire to be forgiven.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
