As we continue our reflection on God’s gifts to us, today’s Holy Nougat™ invites us to think about how we pray;
Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! Matthew 6:8 NLT
Vain repetition is not very likely to twist God’s arm to our whims. Moreover, with God being totally aware of our needs, our requests to God are more about building our trust in God.
Speaking of trust, what does trust in God look like? Is it a quality that others could easily see in you, and would wish to emulate? In trusting God, is there room for disappointment or extreme joy? Knowing that God truly knows our needs, how willing are we to be honest when we bring our petitions to the throne? Are we ready to be confronted by our true needs and our desires?
Today, I dare is to step out of our comfort zones. I dare us to. believe God for a need/want/desire which is not so readily accomplished by our strength. And just maybe, we might see God at work, ready to fulfill what God has purposed.
