With all the various wind of doctrine blowing around, it is so easy very easy to fall prey to sin. The neo-religious mantra which proclaims us masters and mistresses of our own destinies makes it even easier to do so. For, we often credit it success to our own hard work it someone else. But part of the description which James urges us to guard against, is the view that God is not integrally involved in our lives.
For me, a view of the created order leaves little doubt about God’s existence. The songs assail when faced with human disobedience in its most evil form. Today, I opt to be open to God’s presence, to see God in the little things, in the good things. And to try to override self by not yielding to sin so readily. Care to join me?
