Hello,

How do we treat with someone who continually offends us? Would you believe that we continuously forgive.

Ouch. Yes

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. II Timothy 2:5 NKJV

And yet, we would prefer to tell God how we ought to live at times. Ironically, when we do acknowledge our sins, we tend to act as though we ought to be publicly rewarded for our confession; but woe betide the one who’s offended us. For then, there’s no infraction of the rules. Not at all.

What if God were as unforgiving with us as we are with others? Hmm. More so, what if there are special penalty for bending God’s commandments as there are for sporting infractions? Yellow cards, red cards, disqualifications, benched for a season, removal of title … Many would complain that we cannot live up to God’s standards. And we can’t. Not on our own. But the gift of God … through Christ Jesus affords us grace. How do we respond now?

I pray we will seek God’s forgiveness for our sins rather than take God’s grace for granted; and I also pray that we become more gracious to those who have wronged us.

Thanks for feasting at God’s table with me.

In Christ,
