Has what God conceived in your life been a cause for concern? Consider today’s Holy Nougat

“A few days later Mary hurried to the hill country of Judea, to the town where Zechariah lived. She entered the house and greeted Elizabeth. At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭39‬-‭41‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In the picture below, an artist captures the reunion of the cousins Elizabeth and Mary, after the angel’s announcement of Jesus’ conception. Rather than simply trying to portray the women in various stages of pregnancy, the babies are featured, their outstretched arms indicators of joy. This is no ordinary encounter. Both women had experienced God’s creative miracles in the conception of their boys and that was prior to scientific advancement!

I suspect that Mary’s visit with Elizabeth, sometimes considered as an opportunity for Mary to lay low until the speculation about her condition would have brought her peace. Yes, she had a safe place to stay as the child within her grew – and that was essential – but she also was in the company of one who also believed when God promised the impossible. For old, barren Cousin Elizabeth had finally conceived! The greeting babes were each other’s proof that all would be well.

Review the picture once again. This time try to envisage yourself in the story. Even if you’re male, can you sense God birthing something transformational within? Do you have that sense of Peace knowing that you are not alone? Most of all, can you feel God’s Spirit confirming God’s faithfulness to complete what God has begun?

Both women were assured by God in that moment. I pray God’s assurance for you that God’s Spirit is with you every step of the way.
