Nougat 5

Siblings, we truly ought to take advantage of every opportunity to pray that comes our way. It helps to keep us grounded in Christ. As we consider Today’s Holy Nougat, may we find every opportunity to give God priority in all we do.

‭Philippians 4:6-7 NLT‬

[6] Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

[7] Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Pray about Everything, No Exceptions

And everything means everything. We can sometimes decide that some things are routine, and we don’t need to pray about them. While most often this works, it may be that we’re not realizing that prayer is more than reporting our every action to God, or seeking God’s blessings over what we do, or making God into an ATM. Prayer is about a relationship, the most profound, essential, intense, satisfactory, and necessary one we can envisage.

If we make prayer an ongoing honest conversation with God, where God is engaged in all aspects of our life, we will find that we are able to pray ceaselessly. We will also find that those worries lose some of their menace because we’ve shared it with God. Contrary to the old adage, with God, a problem shared is a problem wholly solved, not halved. Unless we choose to pick it up again. And it doesn’t need to be fancily stated. Our relationship with God even permits ‘groans too deep for words’ (see Romans 8:26).

So you might wonder, How do I know for certain my worrisome issue is resolved?

It’s the best part.

Our Nougat says that having prayed and thanked God about our situation, we ought to experience God’s peace. That peace will lift the weight of our burdens, and is inexplicable, for it originates from God’s Throne Room.
