Consider carefully today’s Holy Nougat
No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back a single word I said. Psalms 89:34 NLT
That’s God for us, prepared to follow through on the promise sealed in almost contractual terms. Consider
Covenant with Abraham: Father of nations ratified when Abraham had no heir, fulfilled time and again
Covenant with Noah: Never to destroy all creation, began in Noah’s time and despite the many disasters in our time, remains true
Covenant with David: for his descendant to reign eternally, initiated under David’s watch, fulfilled in Christ Jesus.
Granted, these are binding promises. However God further asserts that God’s Word remains inviolable. So here’s the question – what has God promised us personally and individually which we have trouble believing? Consider Jesus’ promise to the Disciples (and, by extension, us): to send the Comforter & be with us always; Promise fulfilled then and still being fulfilled today.
I believe we can therefore trust what God has promised.
Today, let’s ask God to grant us similar degrees of integrity and also honor God for always being true to that which God has promised
