Greetings
Year’s ago, I remember watching a Jamaican comic review called “Home- Full”. In the sketch, we were witness to the resourcefulness of a mentally-challenged homeless man who declared himself home-full for free and his heart were always in the same place. For a slightly different reason, us Children of God can make a similar declaration; this is explained in today’s Holy Nougat
Lord, through all the generations you have been our home! Psalms 90:1 NLT
You see, our habitation has been secured for ever. God our Creator not only provides us with natural earthly accommodation, but also assures us of a secure place to bunker down woken life gets too overwhelming.
Having left the warmth of the tropics to return to the reality of spring- time snow; I am truly grateful for doors and central heating systems. Doors keep the cold out and heaters maintain the desired temperature in for optimal wellness. So it is with our God. The extreme enemy attacks on our spirit are blocked by our God on an offensive and defensive level (God’s name is a strong tower into which the righteous seek refuge.: Proverbs 18:10)
Houses also offer the added benefits of being homey – often a place where food is readily found. This, regardless of dietary preferences and needs are. So it is with God. Our God meets our physical and spiritual need for food. Hence we pray, ” Give us this day our daily bread…” and Jesus reminds us that He is the Brag off Life.
A house providers stability and to some extent (socia)l security; that is a certain kind of rootedness which only becomes important when it is threatened or violated. In like manner, God offers us the assurance of Heaven, reminding us that we don’t have to worry about our eternal home; (in our Father’s house there are mansions). The assurance invites us to break forth in praise; because our future is secure.
So, we thank God for being our home – confident in the knowledge that we are fully covered.
Blessings to you and yours.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
