Nougat 5

Good morning

Have you ever stopped to appreciate the way you are made up? Today’s Holy Nougat invites us to do just that.

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Psalms 139:13 NLT

Knitting or weaving is serious work. And in the era of this poem, it was necessary for cloth-making. Although a relaxing enterprise (or so I’m told), knitting requires a fair degree of concentration, and usually involves a pattern which takes advantage of the variations in the wool or yarn; such that no two pieces are exactly alike. Yet, each designed to follow a specific pattern.

My recollection of biology indicates that two tiny cells combust and literally become ONE; by a miraculous weaving (knitting) pattern, which later is recognized as a fetus. This fetus; initially dependent upon its host, eventually gets to full maturity and is birthed – a full fledged human, less dependent upon the (mother) host. Even when twins or triplets; the fully-fledged human is it’s own unique self; albeit patterned by the Great Designer.

Isn’t it awesome to realize that we are a precious crafting along a particular pattern; which connects us to humanity, yet distinguishes us as our own self! Just absolutely amazing and awesome!

I invite us to spend some time today to appreciate the nuances of this special (perhaps vintage); one-of-a kind masterpiece; special edition weaving called you. Look for the special parts of the design which nuance your uniqueness and celebrate you! Then let’s take time to appreciate the Great Designer; Who knit us together in our mothers’ wombs.

What an incredible design!

And such a creative Designer-Weaver!

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
