Hello there,
I know a few of us have been going through, sometimes not quite getting through. Perhaps you might find encouragement through today’s Holy Nougat™
For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. James 1:3 NLT
She had been unfit for a long year. Okay, maybe longer than a year. The fitness programme was simple; a few weeks of exercises, no stress. The pretest results were almost totally dismal, she was barely managing to do the exercises, some only in modified versions.
Still she pressed on, trying to keep with the plan. Sometimes her entire body complained at the indignities it underwent. And she often altered some of the moves in the attempt to actually get her body to yield.
The programme ended.
No weight loss.
Then came the post test. No significant shift in muscle content. BUT, she had doubled the number of rotations for all but one exercise! Progress.
The impact of the exercises on her body was reflected in the rotations, not in the visible signs of muscle definition or weight loss.
Flash forward to our current spiritual health. In some aspects of our spiritual lives, the issues we face are fairly new to us. We have not flexed our spiritual muscles in a very long time. Truth be told, we might even have failed the pretest. (Ouch!!!) But Jesus, our coach, challenges us to press on. To keep up with the plan. Many times, it’s only the prayers of the saints which have effected our ability to withstand.
Current position.
The world cannot see the changes just so. One would think there’s no progress. Until a test of our Faith is repeated. And we find ourselves encouraging others based on our personal experiences. And we realize then that we have persevered and endured.
For truly,
‘Heights of great [Faith] reached and kept were not attained by singular [might] …’
Press on my dear, God’s got you. Only endure.
Thanks for joining us in this Divine feast
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
