How is the walk with Jesus going? Today’s Holy Nougat invites us to think outside ourselves.
“So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him.” 2 Corinthians 5:9 NLT
What does it take for us to make pleasing God our goal?
Sacrifice
Love-devotion
Consciousness
Intentionality
are some of what come quickly to my mind. And, upon a bit of inward reflection I’d say I am a work in progress.
For, desiring to please God means it’s God’s will and purpose which gets prioritization. Not ours.
I can only get to that state of mind, by serious dedication to the One Who first and always loves us.
Our quest is not simple or easy. We can very easily be tempted. Being mindful helps us overcome.
It’s not accidental. It’s planned. It is sticktoitivity regardless.
Lord as we approach this season of repentance, forgive us our selfishness, our inability to put You first Always.
It’s not easy Lord, but by Your Spirit, help us to press – being more and more intentional we pray amen
