Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
Now, however, it is time to forgive and comfort him. Otherwise he may be overcome by discouragement. 2 Corinthians 2:7 NLT
You know, some aspects of Christianity really require some undiluted, us-out-the-way dosages of Jesus. For, I’m certain that not many of us have a natural bent to comfort the one who offends us. Although, were the shoe on the other foot, we would pray for grace from those we offend.
And so, our task today is twofold:
1. We pray for God’s intervention in our hearts so that we might comfort/forgive those who offend
2. We invite you dear Lord to set the floodlights upon our hearts and illuminate any vestiges of unforgiveness. And, as you illuminate our secret sin, liberate us with your love and grace, which releases us from the hurts and pain of unforgiveness. Remind us that we carve the program for our own forgiveness from you in the way we respond to others. Help us to let go of the hurts even if no apology/act of contrition has been made (and that, Lord Jesus, requires YOUR supernatural intervention). We seal this prayer with your Holy Spirit, please Lord Jesus intervene we pray, in Jesus’s name amen
