Have you ever been captured by fear? To the extent that you are virtually crippled? I mean bone-deep, soul-shaking fear that seems to have its own identity and hops in the vehicle with you on life‘s journey? No – I’m happy for you. Yes? How’d you overcome? Today’s Holy Nougat is a good starting point.
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”
Romans 8:38 NLT
First, let’s establish that the kind of fear which takes on such epic proportions in our lives and minds; is not godly. That awareness often brings its own issues in someone challenged by fear; but fear is not ‘of God’. Since it’s not of God, then we may wish to cry out to God for deliverance.
Just as important for each of us is the assurance that although our fears may cripple us, and they dishonor God; they DO NOT place us out of God’s reach. Nope! They don’t. God’s love is stronger than any fear. And that knowledge may be the key to our restoration.
For in our most fearsome moments; we can cry out to God! And then, with outstretched arms, God rescues us from the fear. Trust me, I speak from personal experiences. Of course, fear will return, especially if it had free reign. I assure you my dears; Christ will rescue us time and time again.
That’s Love So Fear not. God’s Love isn’t done with us yet.
