Nougat 4

I’m still looking at the rent veil (curtain).

It demands greater attention, inviting us to more reflection.

So once again, let’s consider the case in Today’s Holy Nougat

“Herod came to the same conclusion and sent him back to us. Nothing this man has done calls for the death penalty. Pilate argued with them, because he wanted to release Jesus …

Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last.

When the Roman officer overseeing the execution saw what had happened, he worshiped God and said,

“Surely this man was innocent.”” ‭‭

Luke‬ ‭23‬:‭15‬, ‭20‬, ‭46‬-‭47‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Innocent

Herod declared Him innocent

Pilates declared Him innocent thrice

Yet the people wanted Him crucified

So Crucified He was.

Absorbing the guilt of the world, He bore it all, as He hung from The Tree. With the scourging he underwent, Y’shua was totally present, conscious, and interceding – for you and me.

Then

The verbal abuse, directed at Him, because of us.

He withstood the shame,

the pain,

the indignity

of being treated like a common criminal –

though He wasn’t.

The veil rent

Darkness fell

He commended Himself to YHWH’s care and

He gave up the Ghost!

His executioner became convinced of His divinity –

and offered up praise to YHWH. In that moment, he saw Y’shua as Savior and became a worshipper!

What is our verdict?

Does this bite of His innocence change when Life’s Lifing?

Can we hear or see proof of His divinity amidst our disappointments, tears, and fears?

How do we see Y’shua?

Do we have time for Him and His divinity when the going is good?

When will we declare His innocence?
