Today’s Holy Nougat is such a heartwarming one. You might wish to share it (and the reflection with someone in need).
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8 NLT
Now this is one powerful, profound act. Substituting one for the sake of all. Wiping away the transgressions of the past, regardless of Who we are. Opening the doors to eternal life in God’s presence, no matter what we used to be. Fighting for our redemption from the snares of the enemy even now; despite having rescued us time and time again.
And how much does it cost us. Everything.
Yes; because our response really ought to be one where we offer ourselves to God in return. It may also cost us our reputation, as our attitudes and values may have shifted in response to this overwhelming act of love!! Additionally, it may cost us friends or even family who are not ready to join us on this new path.
And we gain new friends and family who are also ‘going our way’, offering encouragement and support for the journey. We acquire new gifts – ‘fruits of the Spirit’, if you will – which equip us to share this awesome gift with others. We gain new confidence, because strangely, though this is all God and not us, we know we are covered.
I guarantee my dears, that the joys of being ransomed and redeemed by Christ are worthwhile; and there are no fine prints. All we have to do is accept the gift offered us to receive it. Thereafter, God’s Spirit will guide us and help us overcome any time we ask.
