Hi

For many of us, it’s that time again when we get to some serious spring cleaning or autumn/Fall prepping. And with Covid-19 staying past her due date, many of us definitely have lots of time available to do so, or at least to notice what needs to be done urgently. Are we doing likewise for our selves. Consider today’s Holy Nougat

“be renewed in the spirit of your mind,”

Ephesians 4:23 TLV

Yup

Sometimes the spring cleaning needs to occur ’upstairs’. And if we’re being renewed, then our renewal has to be in relation to a particular new thing. Brand new second-hand is fine, provided we know what we started out as.

So during the pandemic, some of us may actually pick up/resume some good habits (we hope), including family time, diet and exercise. It might not be easy going, but hopefully we’ll establish a workable plan, at least during the home office period. We’re also likely to pick some bad habits along the way, sleep habits, dressing casually for the home office/school, workaholicism, etc. At the time we resume the new normal, some things will have to change. We’ll need to determine what habits are worthwhile for the new normal that emerges. So although some things may revert to factory original, not everything will.

Likewise, we’re wanting to revert to factory original spirituality, providing it’s Jesus’ level factory original and not pre-Jesus. Because it’s very easy to revert to the pre-Jesus state. A few repetitions of the old habits and we’re back there before we knew what we did. Unless we get The Coach. God’s Spirit living within, Who guides us to God’s Truth about right living.

If we invite the Spirit to renew our minds, then it’s guaranteed that we will be factory reset according to God’s plan and purposes. (Remember ‘walk in the Spirit and you’ll not pursue the lusts of the flesh – Galatians 5). And it begins with changing the spirits of our minds. Spiritual renewal. I promise, we’ll be happy with the results – and so might a few others around us.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
