Nougat 31
Greetings my dear
We made it. It’s December 31, and for better or worse, we made it through! To God be the glory! 
“You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.” Psalms 16:11 NLT
So first, our eyes need to be open to see what God is showing us. Not so much our physical eyes, but our spiritual senses need to be attuned to the move of God. When we are attuned, following God’s way is natural. And with the seismic shifts in our way of life globally, it is essential that we focus on Who and what matters.
I have found that it is easier for me to see, hear, do and be when I’m in God’s presence. Part of that involves me being intentionally conscious of who and Whose I am regardless of where I am. In Jeremiah 29, God not only speaks of having plans for us that include us prospering (God’s style); but God also promises to be found when we earnestly seek God. That’s all about making time to read God’s Word, allowing It to penetrate our souls and minds; as well as spending intentional time together with God in prayer 
I believe that when we get to/resume/continue practicing spending time with God, we will enjoy the Joy of God’s presence. (Maybe we forgot what true friendship is like after GoTo Meeting and Zoom living most of this year, but friendship exists beyond the virtual spaces too.) And if we’re not experiencing Joy in God’s presence; ask Why. It could be that it’s time to recalibrate.
Finally, the psalmist’s assurance is for this life and the next. For this to be worthwhile, it helps that we believe in life after death; life with and in Christ. If we don’t then it may be challenging to imagine living with God forever. This is foundational to our Faith and genuinely relies on our faith. The proof exists, when we believe. Then, when we do, we marvel that we missed it prior.
