Nougat 30

Hello

I’m told that assisted suicide is a reality in some countries. That’s is, there are clinics where one might go – Hosanna! Please heal us Your broken children. We desperately need You – Before we rush to judge (any more); have a moment’s thought for the times when we chose physical, spiritual, emotional, professional or even social death (/suicide). What, or rather Who, saved you? Consider today’s Holy Nougat as you think

““Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” Deuteronomy 30:19 NLT

This business of life is messy, as my former professor would say. For, there are persons who consider physical death as a better alternative to their current situation. That’s serious. And, when we are aware of the situations, but opt to remake uninvolved, are we not guilty of heaping death on the person?

Choosing life isn’t only about our situations. Sometimes choosing life is about the plans we make which impact others. Like living ethically and simply as our lifestyle choices affect many others. For the truth is, we are all dependent on each other for our survival.

And succumbing to consumerism may be enticing and beautiful for me, but death dealing for those who are on the manufacturing side. A simple act like failing to care for the environment has potential deleterious long term effects for us all.

We choose life for ourselves

We choose life for our families

We choose life for those further afield

We choose life for endangered species

We choose life for those choosing death

We choose Life

Help us Lord, amen.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
