Blessings

Ever since returning to Jamaica a few weeks ago, I have been feasting on mangoes. 1 mango daily, fresh from the tree. It’s been a testament to God’s gracious provision as I’ve found mangoes even when the yield seemed nonexistent. And that’s God. Always providing something for us to nibble, chew, or even feast on.

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

“Fill your stomach with this,” he said. And when I ate it, it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth. Ezekiel 3:3 NLT

The thing is, God feeds us literally and spiritually. Sometimes it strengthens and nourishes us, at other times it purges, restoring health and wholeness to our bodies.

For Ezekiel, this scroll was sweet to the taste, as God’s word ought to be for every believer. Because, when God invites us to eat – whether literally or figuratively – our transformation is guaranteed.

Besides, food from God is always free. We don’t have to be members of the elite, we don’t have to be wealthy, we don’t even have to be well. For we are fed, not on the basis of our sin quotient, not on the basis of our family lineage, certainly not because of our accomplishments.

No. We are fed because God, our ever loving Creator, wants the very best for us – even at mango time.

In Christ
