Hello

In watching the world games I was struck with utter respect for the American athlete who was competing with limited kidney function. I realized that sometimes when life gets us down, the natural inclination is to curl up and die; but the truth is, it ain’t over till it’s over (andthe fat lady hasn’t sung as yet). Whatever you’re undergoing, remember that with Christ, you can overcome. Take heart

Here’s today’s nougat

The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? Luke 24.5

In the midst of their desperation and misery, a divine visitation. Overwhelmed by grief; they then underwent extreme terror! That they survived the visit is a miracle in itself.

But it was in the crucible of despair that hope was birthed. While they sought closure in the grieving process, they were confronted with the realisation that all was not lost. The old order was once again subverted by the Anointed One – The Christ.

Where once there was defeat; victory. Where once there was hopelessness; hope. Where once there was death; resurrection power. But first, they had to remember. And believe. And depart from the spaces of death and despair.

How about you? Did you even notice the divine visitors waiting to offer you hope In the crucible of life’s lessons? While you underwent your life and death moment; did you dare subvert the seemingly natural order by choosing to look for life, and life only, despite the dankness of death all around?

Can you hear the divine whisper even now, inviting you to seek life? By remembering. And believing. And departing death, debt, dearth and despair? How much more will you undergo before you overcome? Lord hear our hearts’ cry…

…why seek the living among the dead?

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
