Nougat 30

Hello my dears, Summer is in full swing. And for many, this means the heat is on! Today we consider responses to the heat round about and without.

He’s today’s nougat.

From Your presence let my vindication come! Let Your eyes behind the right! Ps17:2

The psalm’s tone suggests that the author is undergoing a season of testing which was not tied to his/her negative behavior.

The psalmist concludes that with heat like this, there is only ONE recourse – to give the problem over to God.

In the request to have his/her integrity and reputation restored, the author is very clear in constructing an argument which proves innocence before God, justifying the need for vindication.

What do we do when the heat is on? How do we respond when falsely accused, framed or even placed in the vicinity of testing?

I know sometimes God becomes MY LAST RESORT, rather than my Refuge my Advocate, My Secret Place. Possibly because I gave more validation to the enemy of my soul, failing to recognize that ONLY God can vindicate me.

When we face those tough patches, when the heart becomes spiritually oppressive and unbearable; maybe it’s time to cry out and be led to the Rock that is higher than high …
