What is the expected impact of our Faith on those around us; and what do we think is critical? Some serious questions as we partake of today’s Holy Nougat

“Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message.” Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭10:44‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In some spaces this is expected to the extent that persons ‘tarry’ for the Spirit; staying in God’s presence so to speak until ‘tongues’ flow. Others pray and listen for the the words to flow from them while they are praying. Others experience the laying on of hands (anointing) by someone with spiritual authority. And while many expect the proof of anointing of God through tongues; that’s not the only proof.

Whether through the manifestation of gifts or speaking in tongues – does this happen in our circles/worship spaces very regularly? If yes, would you like to share? It may be that someone may understand the move of God’s Spirit in their lives. Do you think we ought to be normalizing the anointing of God’s Spirit in our worship spaces?

And if we don’t have any manifestation of Spiritual Gifts in our worship, are we okay with that? We see all the charismatic ministries popping up and taking root round about us – when this is absent from many others. Should we be content with this outpouring being absent in our worship when it seems to have been part of the signs of God’s presence in the early church?

It’s probably worth noting that the manifestation of the gifts of God’s Spirit was considered ultimate proof (just read Acts 4 and onward); but they were not the only proof. There was also a Love overflow. Should we require that Love outpouring for our own lives? How might that be the difference the world needs?
