Nougat 30

Today’s Holy Nougat has been on my mind for a while. I pray for new insights as we reflect.

““For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” ‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The gas gauge was malfunctioning. No matter how much petrol was in the car, the gauge read 1/4 tank. It was up to the owner and drivers of the vehicle to determine whether they needed to top it up or not. For the most part, they presumed it was empty and acted accordingly. While it is a great short-term approach, it doesn’t bode well for planning purposes, and it is possible that the driver spent more time figuring out where to get petrol, even when there was enough.

Some of us have malfunctioning gauges regarding our lovability quotient (ie how lovable we are), and yes it’s a made-up phrase. We operate as though we are on empty all the time. And with that fear of being unloved, we seek affirmation and love in all the wrong places, we spend most of our lives anticipating where we will find love next, we pour our love into one person to the extent of obsession, or we share love with no one for fear of not loved.

But we have a guarantee of lovability!

Our Nougat says God loves everyone, in fact, we are to die for! Hear the nougat speaking directly to you as it does to me: God loves me, (insert your full name) so much that He sent Jesus to ensure that I (insert your full name) have access to Heaven. This is more than just to the moon and back. This love went to hell and back to secure our rescue, desires our company all the time and is preparing a lifetime of love always with us.

Now that’s the kind of love that assures us that we’re lovable when everything else says otherwise. How will we respond to this profound love?
