Nougat 30

In a broken, desperate, and hurting world; it sometimes is very hard to determine what to say when. Wouldn’t it be awesome if we had good guidance.

And we do!

God’s Spirit has us covered. That’s the assurance in Today’s Holy Nougat

“But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. And He, when He comes, will convict the world about [the guilt of] sin [and the need for a Savior], and about righteousness, and about judgment:” ‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Accompaniment through Conviction

God’s Spirit increases our conviction. Both in regard to convicting us to act, and convicting us about our sin. Let’s look at that in a little more detail.

Throughout the book of Acts, we see different persons being ‘moved’ by God’s Spirit. The task before them included healing, casting our devils, and evangelism. On their own, the disciples were partially equipped to fulfill the assignment. But God’s Spirit enabled them even to house a known murderer like Saul of Tarsus. And, by yielding to that divine conviction,, so many lives have subsequently been transformed. It’s the conviction by God’s Spirit that redirected Paul on his missionary journey.

Before being established as Paul, Saul was convicted by God’s Spirit to repent from his murderous ways. God’s Spirit not only convicts us for action as believers, but also alerts us when we’re short of God’s glory. That applies to believers as well as unbelievers. We’re not only convicted at the onset prior to receiving Jesus, we continue to be convicted along the way. As with the conviction to action, it demands that we remain attuned to the move of God’s Spirit. That’s how we get the download on issues of Righteousness and Judgement.

Siblings, despite how it feels – we are not alone. And amidst all that’s happening, when we’re attuned to God’s Spirit, we can be convicted to action, and we will know what to say or do. In other cases, it is not critical, because God’s Spirit has gone ahead of us and ministered to those with whom we interact. In times like these, we definitely benefit from having God’s Spirit accompany us.
