Today’s Holy Nougat often is a source of contention for believers. What is your take on the subject?
“I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.”Galatians 2:21 NLT
A major challenge for humanity is finding balance in all we do. For, while we might not live on the extreme ends of life’s continuums, we have moments of veering towards extremism. Even in our spiritual life. We run the risk of seeming to be very legalistic or too accommodating. Outsiders often conclude that we do not agree with each other because of the disdain with which we treat each other. Yet, there is need for adherence to Law (ie keeping God’s commandments), even as we value the grace which gives us our raison d’etre.
I contend that Love of Christ born of His act of grace Through death and resurrection moves us to obedience to His Law. Thus, there is a need for ‘both … and’, not ‘either … or’. God’s grace frees us from sin and death, yet invites us to consider the Laws of Love which lead us to Life. Life here and now, not only in the hereafter.
It begins with God’s love and grace incarnated in us.
