How are you? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” And they left their nets at once and followed him.” Mark 1:17-18 NLT
Why did they follow immediately; –
– Might they be driven by curiosity, or were they tired of the regular fishing business?
– Had they seen Jesus before, known Him by childhood reputation?
– Was there really a visible halo around Jesus’ head to help them identity Him – I think not.
And what about the boat – there seems to have been no concern about safety or security. Interesting
All these unanswered questions combine to increase the sense of urgency with which the men moved. They were not prepared to miss out on the opportunity, even though they didn’t fully understand what it entailed.
Now that’s the miracle!
Many of us have been called – to follow Christ, to be His emissaries – but we rather delay; get full details on what that call entails, sleep on it some more, etc.; before we say yes.
There’s no guarantee that we’ll begin our call fully equipped, regardless of the level of training we have. In fact, we are told the contrary. That God will equip us when we answer.
Which brings us FULL circle to the call. Have we heard Christ’s call? If so, when and how will we answer?
