Lord, I’m available to You
My will I give to You,
I’ll do what you say, use me Lord,
to show someone the way and enable me to say,
My storehouse is empty and I am available to you (c) Milton Brunsun
Hello my dears,
That song journeyed with me from dreamland to wakefulness yesterday, and served as the basis for today’s reflections.
Here’s today’s nougat
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Who will go for us? Whom shall I send?” And I answered, “Here I am, send me” Isaiah 6:8
Purpose.
Generally precipitated by a God moment. It might not include an Isaiah vision, or being awakened in the night like Samuel, or a roadside encounter like Saul (aka Paul).
Purpose is submitting our will to God’s bigger picture, recognising that even when it seems not to come, God is making The Way individually prepared for each of us.
Its about checking out our passions and confirming whether they reflect Matthew 25. Years ago, an older woman left her home near Geneva, collected students in Bogis-Bossey and drove them to church nearly 20 minutes away. She wasn’t sure how many persons shed be receiving, but she was there nevertheless. It was her way of offering hospitality to those who missed home.
Purpose is insisting your husband add an extra room for the man of God who needed somewhere to stay and never once asking for payment (See Elisha’s story in 2 Kings 4).
Purpose is a little boy forfeiting his lunch, from which more than 5,000 people are fed. Purpose is you and I allowing the Spirit to move mightily in our lives to make a difference for others, as we realise that we benefited the most.
Purpose … singing
Lord, I’m available to You, my will I give to You
I’ll do what You say, use me Lord
To show someone the way, and enable me to say
My storage is empty, and I am available to You.
