Sometimes the best way to combat gender based violence is to get the facts.

How have you been? Have you begun to feel the Christmas breeze? Yes, it’s coming not going.
Here’s today’s nougat
Now after this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant, and for five months she secluded herself entirely, saying
“Because thus the Lord has dealt with me in the days when he deigned to look on me to take away my reproach.” Luke 1.24
She received the best gift of her life. A son to open her barren womb and silence the naysayers.
Her response – gratitude mingled with cautious wisdom.
Considering the odds today, it was perhaps very risky to be pregnant at Elizabeth’s age. But she was. Staying in for the first five months confirmed her step of faith and protected her miracle from dangers seen and unseen.
It would be in our own interest to guard our miracles and promises against the plans of the evil one. Running to share our news, no matter how great, might just be premature talk.
As we praise our miracle into birth, let’s invite the Lord to direct our attention heavenward until the time is right to share our joy.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
