Nougat 3

Hello

No love song today. Though I did consider our very human tendency to demonize some folks or refer to others as angels. It has its place, I guess; but I trust we remember that we don’t have to be ought else but human to be loved by God. Don’t take my word; consider today’s Holy Nougat

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”

So here’s the irony. God sends angels to bring news to humans, to keep watch over humans and to provide protection detail for humanity. Their other primary role is to be in the presence of the Most High, enjoying the opportunity to worship in spirit and truth.

They already have their role and status. I do believe that though they have their fixed position; they are not encroaching on our place in God’s heart. Remember, we are created In God’s Likeness. Our spirits resemble God. And that was in the blueprint. So even when we fail God; we really ought not be rivals.

Now if angels can’t take God’s love away; neither can demons. For they were angels too. They had their moment in the Son and CHOSE to walk away! While I cannot speak wholeheartedly about their status with God, our status remains constant – beloved.

Think about the entire biblical narrative. I agree, there’s mention of us being punished or chastened; God even repents of God’s actions; but the love and the rescue remain constant.

So if we yield to the temptation, we may earn the consequences of our actions but we don’t earn God’s hatred. Isn’t that awesome! And, as Paul said, that’s not license to sin; that’s an assurance of God’s mercy.

Love doesn’t close eyes to wrong – Love owns us despite.

So as we think of our worst temptation, or of our experiences with angels and/or demons; we are assured that God’s love transcends all that to claim us – and, on occasion, restore us to God’s self.

Chew on that a little longer. Acknowledge you are beloved
