There are times when we read the Bible and it inspires and mobilizes us to action. Today’s Holy Nougat is one such for me.
“I was thrust into your arms at my birth. You have been my God from the moment I was born.” Psalms 22:10 NLT
I strongly doubt that any of us can remember what our life was like before or even at birth.
Our parents might
As may other family members and key persons who were there for that journey. And even then, it is possible that they have forgotten some details. They might even have missed a few details along the way.
But God remembers.
Every single detail.
Because God was there.
And, according to the psalmist, God was not only present; but God was also the receiving nurse on duty (ie the midwife, midwife’s assistant or better yet the elated parent). The moment we crossed over from the watery womb into life; it was God Who pronounced us living human being!
That is some kind of amazing.
Moreover, God has remained in our lives ever since. Whether we recognized God’s presence or not. Whether or not we choose to acknowledge God’s presence. It is simply the fact.
And now that we are reminded of (or is it that we are confronted by) the fact of God’s constant presence in our lives; what do we do with this knowledge? Can we honestly and comfortably say, ‘You have been MY God from the moment I was born’? And if so, do we give God that kind of priority and authority?
