Ever heard about a knock-on effect? When one thing impacts another and another? Well today’s Holy Nougat is a reminder that God’s been doing this since …

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So back to Evian for a quick minute. On drinking the water, it quenched my thirst. I confirmed that the thirst was quenched as my throat no longer felt dry, and I began to feel full. I couldn’t actually see my internal organs, but the water surely refreshed my kidneys and I felt like I was breathing differently. My entire body was refreshed! It was time to stop drinking until the next time.

Perhaps like me, you never connected Joy or Peace as knock on effects of Hope; but if God’s Hope fills us with Joy and Peace, then it stands to reason that they could be knock on effects. Of course, they do exist on their own and are impactful in their own right. However, when realized in a context of Hope, it’s not only the knock on effect but also proof positive that God’s behind what we’re experiencing.

So we look to our Source for Hope in desperate circumstances and as we drink, allow ourselves to experience the Joy that comes from knowing God’s in control and Peace that supersedes the storm. ‘Though Satan should buffet though trials should come; let this blest assure control: That Christ has regarded our helpless estate and has shed His own blood for our souls.
