Hope to represent you adequately friends
Apologies for yesterday’s non-submission. Here’s hoping that we are back on track at this point. Please receive today’s Holy Nougat
““I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.” Matthew 18:19 NLT
Before we get bogged down by the semantics of what constitutes answered prayer:; we may wish to further explore prayers of agreement. These are not merely attaching an ‘amen’ at the conclusion of another’s words uttered to the divine; but speaks to an intentionality of purpose in petitioning the throne of grace within a given context or timeframe. Thus, in a push-pull context, the unity of intercession would realize a concerted Push or Pull which impacts lives.
Prayer of agreement cannot be a continuous tug of war, with the partners being split in two about desired goals. We already face opposition from external forces, let’s not compound it when gathered as believers. This invites us to explore the purpose of agreement (why do we invite others to pray with and for us) the method of agreement (how do we ask others to engage with us in prayer) the duration/timing of the season of prayer and the identity of the intercession team (size, spiritual maturity, discretion levels, etc). These must be answered honestly and shared with the team so that they are aware and aligned.
Shared vision may strengthen common mission!
And we must not only seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance in confirming these; but we must also Invite the Holy Spirit’s presence to be united with us when we pray. For the Holy Spirit knows the heart of God and makes special intercession for us. Who better to lead our team in prayers of agreement?
May God’s breath be upon us today wherever we are and in all we do!
