Recently, I had the joy of traveling to a foreign country whose mother tongue is very different from my own. It was a revelation; for as a native English speaker; I usually am the one needing to arrange translation for others. Let’s just say there were moments when I imagined other activities which I could be doing and left the room. Then there are my technology challenges which sometimes serve to prove me inept in public spaces. Language is not always my friend!
Of course, miscommunication is not restricted only to machine or foreign languages. Not when we are blessed with the differentials of human nature, cultures, and subcultures. So, when we add the element of spirituality; in particular the relationship between us humans and The Divine Holy Other – well, it sometimes doesn’t work.
But; today’s Holy Nougat offers a Way Out for the communication barrier between us and the Almighty;
And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.” Romans 8:27 NLT
When it comes to spiritual communication, we have access to our very own Interpreter; Who speaks directly to The Almighty when we cannot find the right words.
For those of us who are/have been gifted with mere grunts, sighs and moans; it must be a joy to know that Our God, The Almighty, understands our hearts and permits The Interpreter to speak on our behalf.
That’s Good News!
Liberating news actually. It is reassuring for me (and you also, I suppose) to know that when I am at my communicative wits’ end; that God understands and has already sent the Cavalry to decipher what my inner being can’t quite articulate!
So, here’s a moment of hope for you if you are challenged with articulating spiritually – God’s Spirit is available to us.
Only a sigh or ask away.
