Please receive today’s Holy Nougat
“Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.” Romans 6:14 NLT
Now this is a keeper! It’s the kind of encouragement most of us need to keep us going. The assumption of guilt, of condemnation (ie is taking it on) is no longer necessary. For Christ’s death nailed them to the cross and left them buried there Permanently. That’s grace.
It’s nothing we earned or even deserve, though we sometimes treat God’s grace as such; with an air of entitlement. Yes, the burden is lifted, but it’s a precious gift from a loving God and compassionate Savior. A gift that begs a response in obedience and adherence to the alternative.
Our response then, must be one in love; recognizing that we are Naturally unable to overcome sin; but willingly expressing a desire for change. And because we respond in love, we find ourselves open to behavior change. Can we see ourselves obeying God’s commands simply for pleasing God?
So here we are at the crossroads. We must decide what motivates us – Fear (of damnation) or Love? Just a reminder – Perfect Love drives away all fear; 1 John 4:18). If it’s fear, I pray for a change of heart, and if it’s love; share with someone else.
