Have you begun any preparation for the season as yet? What about spiritually? Let”s be mindful, prior to God birthing a new thing in our lives, there’s likely to be a Visitation or a Consultation.
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
Mary asked the angel, “How can this happen, since I have not had relations with a man?” Luke 1.34 (ISV)
She survived the angelic visit, only to have the reason for the visit send her into the stratosphere! Mary asks the obvious question, not “Why me?”, which would be perfectly reasonable; but ” How do you propose this will happen?! “
To read shock and some trepidation may just be correct.
But what was the real impossibility which Mary confronted? Could it be the anticipated reaction of the wider community to her unconventional state? To be an unwed mother in a very decent society? To disrupt the status quo in a season of conformity? To conceive … in a season of barrenness?!
How would you have responded to God’s impossible proposal then? How do we respond to God’s impossible proposals for our lives now?
Is the Lord desiring to partner with us for the birthing of something which defies the status quo? Are we truly up to the challenge, the persecution, the ridicule, the pain, the sense of abandonment? Have we truly counted the cost?
The challenge of saying ‘Yes’ to God really means denying our natural selves, and preparing for a Faith adventure that WILL transform our worlds.
