Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT
At times, this seems to be an outrageous and impossible directive. Thankfulness amidst pain, stress, character assasination or even bankruptcy. But yes, we give thanks.
Because thanksgiving is a state of spirit, a recognition that God uses ALL our life circumstances to shape us and draw us even closer.
Thanksgiving also shifts our focus – from self to God, who DOES CARE whether we perish. Who knows?, in shifting our focus, we might dance atop our stormy seas instead of merely walking on water.
But first, let’s see God with us, perfecting us in all situations.
