Hi

It’s supposed to be a scorcher here in the city. Staying indoors might reduce the impact of the heat, but we are still obliged to hydrate for protection. Kinda like our spiritual lives. Today we know the enemy is on the prowl, but we still have to immerse ourselves in Christ’s protection daily, to keep us from succumbing. .

Today’s nougat

For we have received salvation on GRACE, through our faith; it’s not by our own power – this grace is God’s gift to us … Ephesians 2:8

So we know God knows us inside out, and yet desires our salvation from the enemy of our souls! Isn’t that something? One songwriter says, ‘ He knew me, YET He loved me …’

Based on the preceding verses, salvation is not only about protection from eternal condemnation, but it also includes access to all that Christ (the Author and Finisher of our Faith) has access to in the heavenly realm. Let’s not take my word for it, visit verses 3-7. There, we are reminded of where we have come from, but given the assurance that Christ’s mark upon us releases us from our sin and secures our place in the heavenly realms with Christ.

So what do we do with such knowledge? Do we live in the doldrums as people who have no power, or do we, in Faith, celebrate and seek to help others awaken to the existence of this marvelous gift?

… for we have release from our messed up situations through our willingness to accept God’s generous intervention; we can’t release ourselves, only God has that power and God chooses to use it …

Hallelujah
