Good morning friends,

Yet another week winding down. I give God thanks for you all and the many and varied blessings I’ve experienced.

Here’s today’s nougat

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Gal 5:16

In the Caribbean island of Curacao, there is an interesting tree which dominates much of the vast almost desert landscape. The divi-divi tree looks like an enlarged Japanese bonsai, whose shape is derived from its yielding to the the coastal trade winds. In the middle of the island, left to its own devices (without the trade winds), the divi divi May be as task as 9m, but Lewis configuring its trunk in line with the force of the easterly winds. Yet, it has evolved to withstand the attack of herbivores.

Walking by the Spirit is living like the divi divi tree. Our natural styles would seek to fulfill particular goals. But our spirits yield and sway to the Holy Spirit’s presence and soon, we’re reshaped and evolved to withstand attacks from the predators of our souls.

What an awesome God! What a way to live.

May our lives reflect God’s blessings as we yield to the mighty move of the Spirit against our nature.
