So if God is refuge and constant strength, is there anything else for when trouble comes? Consider today’s Holy Nougat
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” Psalms 46:1 NLT
The truth is, God is help in trouble! That is, our assistance, succour, or support. So
whatever befalls us, God offers assistance to see us through, becomes the pillars of support we need in our hearts and offers us comfort, healing and restoration in the midst of our storms. Yet, despite our knowing this (theoretically), we seem to make God our last resort.
Why?
Why do we turn to Jesus only when we can’t help ourselves? Or, as my Jamaican peeps would say – ‘when we can’t do any better’. How much worry time could we reduce from our lives, how much more fruitful might we be, if we redirected our troubles to God?
Can it be that we choose to trust God less each time God doesn’t act in our timing or prescribed expectation? If so, maybe it’s time to trust God’s process. Can it be that we hardly have allowed ourselves to get help from others because of pride or self-preservation? If so, relying on God’s promises, provision and protection brings glory to God and offers us a super awesome testimony.
Although in Heaven, God offers full time support throughout all phases of our lives. Whether through angels, humans or by God’s Spirit. Our Refuge, Strength and Help is guaranteed. It’s time for us to let go and let God.
