Siblings
There is a very common denominator that crops up in the prophecies. It is an increase of deception or the preponderance of false prophets. We saw Y’shua mention false prophets twice before, and He’s mentioned it anew as a sign during the End. What does this mean for us as believers? Consider Today’s Holy Nougat.
Matthew 24:23-25 NIV
[23] At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.
[24] For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
[25] See, I have told you ahead of time.
Do Not Believe
Siblings,
Of Y’shua arms against nothing else, He’s exceedingly emphatic about us guarding against deception. Not just any deception, though that is also important, specifically against false messiahs and prophets who will use signs and wonders to support their claims. We’re already beginning to see songs fake around the world. Some are easily detected as false, and others aren’t so simple.
Point to Ponder
What do you think is behind the increase in deep falls at The End?
Application
I have held a theory for some time now that where the genuine article exists, counterfeits become part of the landscape. This results from the unscrupulous mindset of many who seek to profit from the naive and undiscerning. Their theory seems to be that if there is one who can be manipulated or deceived, let it be. Of course, in their greed, they fail to realize that they are the ones being deceived.
Let’s face it. Ever since the mutiny in Heaven, we’ve been told that the enemy of our souls has sought to turn humanity against God. Stemming primarily from the desire to be god, the devil tries constantly to lure us with signs, wonders, and deepfakes. Unfortunately, as the Parable of the Sower tells us, many have been, are, and will be deceived by the devil’s plans. With tools similar to those of God, the devil is the original master of counterfeit. As the deceiver, the devil convinces others that service to God can not yield as much in the moment.
Several succumb.
Luke 4 tells us that the same tactic was tried with Y’shua. If the devil would have the temerity to try to deceive Y’shua, recognize that we’re potential targets! The thing is, not all of us will be drawn in. Some will be caught by the flashy signs and wonders, some will get drawn in by prosperity promises, some by the promise of comfort in this life, and others will be avoiding persecution.
Having been warned, having the good sense to know that as Christ’s return becomes more imminent, knock-off saviours (i.e. deepfakes) will increase, we must be on our guard. We must recall that there will be signs and wonders manifested in Christ’s name, but the signs won’t be manifested by Christ. He’s already done that when living here on earth. When He returns, it’s for a takeover. It’s to establish His reign in totality.
With all the deepfakes abounding, will we be among Christ’s subjects?
