Don’t you realize that those who work in the temple get their meals from the offerings brought to the temple? And those who serve at the altar get a share of the sacrificial offerings. 1 Corinthians 9:13 NLT
In light of that assertion, how do we treat our church workers? Do we make a distinction between commissioned and ordained workers? Why/(not)? What is the remunerative practice of your faith tradition? Are you party to those practices and do you endorse these? If you are a full time church worker (commissioned, licenced, ordained, etc), how do you feel about what currently entails?
Let us remember that we do not give to support a church leader, we give to God’s glory. Or at least that should be our primary goal. And, we’re also seeking to meet the needs of a community; not honor or disdain any one individual.
