Nougat 28

After spending an hour preparing the nougat, proofing it and typing email addresses in, it completely disappeared. The second time in 3 days. Ugh! Satan, you lose. I’m starting once more from scratch. If any of you has a leaning toward technology, I’d appreciate help in curtailing this.

Here’s Today’s Holy Nougat™

Then Joshua asked them, “How long are you going to wait before taking possession of the remaining land the Lord , the God of your ancestors, has given to you? Joshua 18:3 NLT

This was land given to Abram, promised to their grandparents and now their reality. This was promise fulfilled. This was God having come through after 40 years of Wilderness wandering. Taking over all that land was to be a walk in the park.

But it wasn’t.

For …

… There were giants. In status and stature. The Children of Israel didn’t feel strong enough to overcome them.

… There were grapes, milk, milchcows, and honey in the “lowlands”. Enough that it reduced the need for claiming the “highlands”

… There were few visionaries. Caleb and a few of his own opted for the lush, untamed fertile hills. Most others failed to drive the others (squatters) from their lands.

… There were few Faithful. All the land meant ALL the land. But, they only claimed part of the Promised Land.

… There were many complacent folk.

Perhaps you’ve added a few reasons of your own. Perhaps like me you’ve been annoyed at their wavering Faith. Perhaps you wondered why they continued to receive blessings upon blessing from the Lord.

Until the text is applied to our own lives. And we realize that we have failed to inhabit all the spiritual Promised Land which the Lord has secured for each of us.

What excuses have we conjured? Do we even know that we’re in the Promised Land? (or are we stuck in the wilderness of Sin? That’s the name for one of the desert regipns then)

Ready to walk in the promise? It’s about time.

In Christ’s love and grace
