Hello
I was waiting on the bus today and noted that I was about to alight a kneeling bus; the kind that lowers to facilitate wheelchair and other passengers. It got me thinking… As far as I’m aware that technology originated with the Citroen years ago. Who’d have thought that the feature designed by a “lunatic” would prove to be part of the technology to assist in the general mobility of others. And what about your great idea…the one God placed on your heart recently; is it ready for the test run as yet?
Here’s today’s nougat
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12.1
The song, Hero, popularized by Gladys Knight has dominated my thoughts recently. Possibly because it speaks to the concept of shadows, but also it’s earnestness in recognizing that success is not a solo act.
And; the reminder of the cloud of witnesses encouraging us on in Hebrews confirms that for the success we enjoy; came through collaborative efforts. Even if the collaboration was indirect.
Have you ever stopped to count the cost, to identify the shoulders on which you’re stood? In Jamaica we often remind ourselves that “Howdy, tenky no bruk no square… (i.e. good manners doesn’t cost us anything). Have you thanked those upon whose shoulders you’ve stood recently?
Let’s find a way to identify members of our individual crowd of witnesses and say thanks somehow.
May God bless our endeavors.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
