Nougat 28

Today’s Holy Nougat is a comforting word for us all.

“May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Blameless AND Holy! Not the typical words one expects to hear as a description of us humans. Yet, here is a clear message that God’s grace removes the besetting sins within and affords us access to God’s presence.

Now note the irony; although it’s written specifically for the Thessalonian Church, this is applicable to ANYONE who believes – whether Zacchaeus or Nicodemus or Martha. And that’s the beauty of God’s grace. It doesn’t discriminate between statuses of any kind; God’s Love is freely available to all, including you and me. We only have to claim it.

And this is a promise for the here and now, as it is for later. Because our hearts will get tuned now; in anticipation of that future time when we come face to face with God. Thankfully, in this time before God, it is not our work that is on display, but Christ’s love. A love that covers a multitude of sin.

So what are we waiting for? Let’s accept this gift of God’s grace now; for we know not when our time comes to be in God’s presence.
